The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) resorted to unprovoked firing in Shakargarh Working Boundary on Thursday, resulting in retaliatory action by Pakistan side, said Pakistan Rangers spokesperson in a statement.

The spokesperson said that Indian forces started fire around 4:00 a.m. at Shakargarh border.

Cross firing lasted for 30 minutes, he added.

There have been incidents of unprovoked firing from Indian side in Poonch and Amritsar sectors in the recent past for which protests had been lodged with Indian authorities a number of times.
