UAE constructs village for Mongolian Muslims

Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has begun constructing a village in Mongolia that will provide houses, schools and healthcare facilities to Mongolian Muslims.

The “Village” is a humanitarian project by the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation.

The project in Olgiy province would cost five million dirhams (around $1.3 million).

Obeid Salem Al Dhahiri, the foundation’s director general, said the village will provide houses, schools, mosques, shopping arcades, healthcare facilities and other utilities for the Muslim population of Olgiy.

Olgiy province shares borders with China and Russia.
