New Delhi : Two days after serial blasts rocked Mumbai, goods transporters in Delhi have been asked to be extra cautious and check all material before booking.
In a circular issued Friday, Delhi Goods Transport Association’s secretary Rajender Kapoor urged the members to physically check materials to all possible extent before taking bookings.
“We have requested members to instruct their booking staff to take all precautionary measures and check while booking material specifically from unknown persons,” Kapoor said.
“To the extent possible, check the material physically before such bookings. Maintain identity records of consignor as well,” a circular by the association said.
Kapoor said the members have been asked to bring any suspicion to the notice of the police.
“The Delhi Police have warned the citizens to be alert as similar attacks may take place in Delhi. So it is our duty to remain vigilant and extend all necessary help to police and other security agencies to prevent any untoward incident,” he added.
Three blasts rocked central and south Mumbai Wednesday evening — at Dadar, Zaveri Bazar and Opera House. Delhi is also on high alert since the terror attacks.
