Patna: Dr. Jagannath Mishra, the former Chief Minister of Bihar who has constantly been advocating for reservation for Muslim community, has reiterated his demand of reservation to the minority community in the government jobs and educational institutes in order to bring them in to the national development.
Lambasting the government for not implementing Sachar Committee and Mishra Commission recommendations on Muslim reservation, he said: “There should be no excuse to deny reservation to Muslims after Sachar Committee confirmed the dire condition of the community in all walks of life and Ranganath Mushra Commission recommended reservation as remedy for the community to recover from the backwardness” said Dr. Mishra.
He said that when Supreme Court has also cleared the way for reservation to Muslims on the ground of backwardness, it was an obligation on the part of the government to act on the recommendations of Sachar and Mishra reports.
“It is time to correct this fault with providing fruits of progress to all people and reservation for Muslims will be first step towards this mission” he added while talking about the community’s backwardness.
