Beijing : Thunderstorms over the past five days have battered China’s Chongqing city, damaging homes and farmland, cutting power supplies and affecting about 275,000 people.
More than 1,500 houses have been damaged by the continuous storms and another 400 have collapsed, authorities said.
Over 6,800 hectares of farmland have been affected by the thunderstorms, Xinhua reported.
The weather office has forecast more thundershowers with heavy winds and hail in Chongqing Tuesday.
