Thiruvananthapuram: The march to state Raj Bhavan organised by the ‘Kerala Muslim Samyuktha Vedi’, an umbrella body of Muslim organizations, warned against the violation of justice and human rights to PDP chairman Abdunnasir Maudany, presently in Karnataka jail accused in the 2008 Bengaluru blasts.
Hundreds of people participated in the march that began from the Museum Junction in Thiruvananthapuram, which was blocked by the police in front of the Raj Bhavan. The people then sat on the road and raised slogans. The leaders warned that agitation would continue raising the slogans ‘change the trial from Karnataka to any other state’, ‘stop the human rights violations’ and ‘release innocent Maudany’. A memorandum was submitted to the Governor demanding the release of Maudany, after the march.
The Karnataka government has jailed the judicial system of the country in the case of Maudany, said Thodiyoor Muhammed Kunji Moulavi, state secretary of the Dakshin Kerala Jam’iyathul Ulema, while inaugurating the march. Maudany is jailed for no reason of his, despite having said in front of the public several times to have done nothing wrong. Maudany should be freed from the hands of the BJP government in Karnataka. The central and state governments should open their eyes in the matter. He added that the case should be transferred to any court outside Karnataka.
Chelakkulam Abdul Hameed Moulavim, principal of ‘Anwarsseri’, read out the message sent by Maudany from jail which pointed out that there were many innocents despite him who were suffering in jails as the victims of imperialist-fascist terror.
