Lima : Ollanta Humala was sworn in Thursday as Peru’s new president, Xinhua reported.
He will remain in the post for five years.
The heads of state from Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay and Bolivia were among the foreign guests who attended the swearing in ceremony.
Outgoing president Alan Garcia did not attend the inauguration.
