New Delhi : Yoga classes, filtered drinking water, a large number of coolers, mattresses and clean lavatories. The arrangements at Ramlila Ground where yoga guru Baba Ramdev began his indefinite fast against corruption Saturday left the thousands of supporters at the site impressed.
“Many of us have slogged for hours to make all the arrangements. Providing care and satisfaction to the thousands who have gathered here was of utmost importance to us,” a volunteer from Madhya Pradesh, Shamsher Singh, told IANS.
A two-hour yoga camp that commenced alongside Ramdev’s fast early Saturday was cheered by the supporters.
“Yoga is part of my regular morning routine but doing it here with so many people and more importantly with Baba was blissful. He is truly an inspiration for all of us,” said M. Ganeshan from Bangalore, Karnataka.
A walk around the sprawling site revealed that utmost care had been taken to keep the ground clean. Dustbins were placed at many places inside the marquee and the carpets and mattresses were clean.
The lavatories had adequate water supply and, despite being in the open, did not stink.
“The arrangements are perfect and we are extremely satisfied. The toilets are clean and there is filtered drinking water available 24×7,” Sangeeta Bharti from Jharkhand told IANS.
Meanwhile, hundreds of desert coolers, ceiling and pedestal fans made sure that the Delhi heat did not bother the people too much. A couple of ambulances also stood by in case of any emergency.
