Dharna against Forbesganj killing at Bihar Bhawan on Monday

New Delhi: In order to register their protest at the brutal killing of six innocent villagers in Forbesganj, a group of human rights activists are planning to organize a peaceful protest at Bihar Bhawan at 11 AM on 13 June (Monday).

Under the banner of Committee for Justice to Victims of Forbesganj Firing, (CJVFF, the activists will also hand over a memorandum to the resident commissioner of Bihar Bhawan putting across its three demands from the state government which includes judicial probe of the entire episode by a sitting judge of Patna High Court.

Second demand is immediate suspension and registration of FIR against the officials responsible for the firing and the third demand is compensation of at least ten lakhs and government job to a family member of those killed.

Mahtab Alam, member of CJVFF, said that, “Through the media we want to inform the Bihar government that if these demands are not met before 13th June then we will also submit a memorandum to the Chinese embassy. The memorandum will highlight targeted killings of minorities in Bihar.”

The Committee for Justice to Victims of Forbesganj Firing has appealed from every concerned citizen of India to participate in the proposed dharna to register their protest at the most brutal violation of human rights in the so regime of Nitish Kumar.

A fact finding team will also visit Forbesganj soon, informed Alam. The Committee will also approach National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) and National Commission for Women (NCW) because a woman and an infant were also killed in the firing.
