Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said abusive language must not be used against any institution of the country.
The prime minister told the National Assembly Thursday that the killing of a 25-year-old man by paramilitary personnel in Karachi was “a matter of concern for the whole nation”, the Dawn News reported.
Gilani tried to calm tempers of parliament members, saying: “I will look into it at a personal level, and the culprits will be brought to justice.”
But the prime minister was unhappy over what he called “abusive language” used by a member of the opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) said.
Khawaja Saad Rafiq, speaking on the Karachi incident, used abusive language against the whole Ranger force, calling them “terrorists in uniform”, who must be “bridled”, APP said.
The prime minister said action would be taken if the accused were found guilty, and requested the speaker to expunge the language used against the paramilitary institution.
