Barath has recovered from the hamstring injury he suffered during the World Cup and replaces Kirk Edwards in the squad. All-rounder Danza Hyatt makes way for Rampaul, who was rested.

“Danza Hyatt and Kirk Edwards have been replaced in the squad by Ravi Rampaul and Adrian Barath,” the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) said in a statement.

Gayle, who was ignored by the selectors for the first four ODIs because of his comments in a radio interview, was overlooked yet again. He is supposed to meet WICB officials Wednesday to resolve the issue.

West Indies registered a consolation win over India in the fourth ODI after losing the first three games.

The squad: Darren Sammy (captain), Carlton Baugh (wicketkeeper), Devendra Bishoo, Darren Bravo, Adrian Barath, Ravi Rampaul, Anthony Martin, Kieron Pollard, Kemar Roach, Andre Russell, Marlon Samuels, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Lendl Simmons.
