Kochi: Senior lawyer Adv KA Jaleel has been appointed Additional Advocate General by the Kerala government. He is presently serving as standing consul in the Thiruvananthapuram Development Authority (TRIDA) and the Kerala State Industries Development Corporation (KSIDC).
Hailing from Edavanakkad in Ernakulam, Mr Jaleel has been practicing in the Kerala High Court for the past 30 years and has served as Additional Prosecution Director during the last UDF government. He has also served as the consul of the Kochi Corporation, KEL (Kerala Electrical and Allied Engineering Company Limited), KMML (Kerala Minerals and Metals Limited) and the Backward Classes Development Corporation, etc.

With the appointment of Mr Jaleel, there are two additional advocate generals, the other being Adv PC Iype who was appointed late last month. Gopakumar has been appointed Government Pleader. CS Manilal, D Jayasanker, Rajasree, Bijulal, Muhammed Shafi, Abdul Salam and George Mecheril have been appointed senior Government Pleaders.
