New Delhi: DMK chief M. Karunanidhi reached Tihar Jail Tuesday to meet his daughter and Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi who is lodged there over the 2G spectrum case.
The DMK chief reached the jail premises at around 4:45 pm. He was escorted by party cadres of DMK.
Kanimozhi and Sharad Kumar, managing director of Kalaignar TV Pvt Ltd, were named by CBI as co-conspirators in the supplementary chargesheet for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs.214 crore. They were arrested May 20 after the trial court dismissed their bail pleas.
The DMK chief earlier met Kanimozhi May 23 during his previous visit to New Delhi.
Kanimozhi, 43, has been in Tihar Jail since May 20 after her bail plea was rejected first by the special CBI court and then by the Delhi High Court and Monday by the Supreme Court.
