Gaza : A bomb was detonated behind the United Nations Special Coordinator Office (UNSCO) in Gaza city, Xinhua reported Sunday.
The sudden explosion wrecked the area, where the fence of the UNSCO and a nearby mosque in the neighbourhood were damaged. A bystander was lightly injured, the report quoted local sources as saying.
However, it wasn’t clear if the bomb targetted the UNSCO or the nearby mosque.
The UNSCO building is close to the main security compound of the Palestinian security forces, now ruled by the deposed government of the Islamic Hamas movement.
Hamas police forces arrived at the scene and began an investigation.
Three days ago, a bomb was planted in the same area, but the bomb hadn’t detonated and was immediately dismantled.
