Himachal to open drug de-addiction centres

Shimla : Himachal Pradesh will open drug de-addiction centres in all its districts as well as launch campaigns to enforce the law against traders selling tobacco products near educational institutions, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said here Sunday.

“Drug de-addiction centres in all the 12 districts would be opened soon and a special campaign would be launched against those who are selling tobacco products within a radius of 100 yards of educational institutions,” Dhumal said at a function to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

He said a toll-free helpline would also be started to provide information on drug de-addiction.

At present, the government is running four drug de-addiction centres in the state.
