China to buy 88 planes from Airbus

Beijing : China has signed an agreement with aircraft giant Airbus to buy 88 planes of the A-320 family, an official said Wednesday.

According to the deal signed in Berlin Tuesday, the China Aviation Supplies (CAS) company will buy 46 aircraft, and the remaining 42 will be delivered to the ICBC Financial Leasing Co, a subsidiary of the Industrial and Commerce Bank of China, Xinhua reported.

The A-320 family is made up of the A-318, A-319, A-320 and A-321.

Airbus has secured more than 7,000 orders for the A-320 family worldwide, and more than 4,700 planes have already been delivered to over 330 clients across the globe.

A total of 575 A-320 aircraft are operated in China by 13 airline companies.
