New Delhi: Shekhar M. Deorukhkar, close aide of former Commonwealth Games (CWG) Organising Committee chief Suresh Kalmadi, and businessman Binu Nanu, MD of two private firms, were Saturday sent to 14 days’ judicial custody by a Delhi court for their alleged role in the multi-crore rupees overlays scam.

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) special judge O.P. Saini said: “Deorukhkar and Nanu are remanded to judicial custody till March 19.”

Nanu is MD of Meroform India Pvt Ltd and G.L. Events Pvt Ltd.
The overlays included supply of tents, pre-fabricated units, portable toilets, containers, security fences, furniture, public display LED boards, floor finishes, material handling equipment, gensets, cabling, air-conditioners, lighting, civil construction and exercise equipment.
