The equipment – which are a grant from UAE’s Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahayan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation – will enable the hospital in Ben Gardan town to use an intensive care unit for the first time to accommodate six critical patients.

UAE ambassador to Tunisia, Abdullah Ibrahim Al-Suwaidi and Tunisian officials attended a ceremony in which the equipment was handed over to the hospital authorities.

Salem Anibi, director of the hospital, thanked the UAE for the gesture and said this was the first time the hospital had new medical equipment in 50 years of its operation.

The foundation provides humanitarian relief in areas that have suffered natural disasters.
