Hajj application forms to be distributed from tomorrow

Malappuram: The distribution of the Hajj application forms of this year will begin tomorrow. Those who wish to apply should present any document of identification such as the election identity card and the ration card.

The forms will be available at the Karippur Hajj House near the Calicut Airport, the minority cell sin all the 14 district Collectorates, office of the Madrasa Teachers Welfare Board in the Hajj Committee building at Puthiyara in Kozhikode and the Minorities Directorate at Palayam in Thiruvananthapuram. The forms can also be downloaded from the websites of the Hajj Committee – www.hajcommittee.com and www.keralahajcommittee.org.

The forms will be accepted by the state Hajj Committee till April 30. A colour photo (3.5×3.5 cm in white background) each of the applicant should be pasted on both copies of the application form. The application should not be submitted in more than one state.

Those who have performed the Hajj within the last five years, those having contagious diseases, handicapped people, mentally retarded persons etc should not apply. Children below the age of two can apply along with parents, but those from 2 to 18 should not apply. Those who had applied for the Hajj in the past three consecutive years, and were not selected, will be included in the reserved category and assured selection if they apply this year also. However, not all in one cover should be eligible thus for direct selection. The cover numbers of the previous years should be mentioned in the specific columns in the application form. Those who were selected for Hajj but cancelled it in the past three consecutive years will not be eligible for this allowance. If the applications in the reserved category outnumber the quota allowed for the state, selection for Hajj will be made from the reserved category alone, without considering the general category of applications.

The filled in application forms should be mailed to the Officer, Kerala State Hajj Committee Office, Hajj House, PO Calicut Airport, Malappuram – 673647 via normal post, speed post or courier. The total number of applicants should be written on the cover along with writing ‘Hajj Application 2011’. The photocopies of the application should be kept by the applicants.

The Hajj Committee will send the cover number to the main applicant in a cover upon the selection of applicants. If the cover number is not received by May 7, the applicant should contact the Hajj Committee office with a copy of the application form by May 14. Complaints will not be accepted after the date.
