The delegation includes veteran journalist Kuldip Nayar, journalist Seema Mustafa and film director Mahesh Bhatt.

The members of the peace delegation will remain in Pakistan till March 25 and visit cities like Karachi, Hyderabad, Islamabad and Lahore.

“The delegation will be meeting top political leaders, senior government officials, civil society members, academics, youth, fishermen, lawyers, media and others,” said Nayar in a statement issued here.

“We welcome the decision of both the countries to resume dialogue with the beginning of meeting of home secretaries in Delhi March 28 and 29, as well as the announcement of the foreign ministers’ meeting in Delhi in July,” added Nayar.

This will be the first structured bilateral secretary level meeting since the terrorists attack in Mumbai, he added.

The delegation is demanding that the dialogue should be uninterrupted. It is necessary that both the governments reactivate the India-Pakistan Judicial Committee on Prisoners as it can help in preventing the sufferings of innocent prisoners, including fishermen, he said.
