Kolkata : Trinamool Congress’ six ministers of state in the central government are “non-performers” who “don’t even feel ashamed while drawing salaries”, West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee said here Wednesday.

“They (Trinamool) have six ministers of state in the union government but they don’t work at all. They only roam around. They don’t even feel ashamed while drawing salaries. They are a group of non-performers,” Bhattacharjee said at a media meet.

Trinamool, with 19 MPs, is the second largest ally in the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government. The party has six ministers of state and one cabinet minister (Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee) in the UPA government.

Bhattacharjee also took a dig at Trinamool chief Mamata and her slogan of “change”.

“What does this slogan of change mean? Does it mean that the amount of land that is in the hands of farmers of our state will change? Does it mean that land reforms we have done will change? They want to change the government, come to power and run the state as railway department is being run nowadays,” he said.

“The railway doesn’t have money to implement projects, they are only doing inauguration programmes,” said Bhattacharjee.
