The primary schools were blown up using dynamite late Thursday night in Landi Kotal area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. No one was injured in the incidents, a security official told Xinhua.

Both schools were at half-a-kilometre distance from each other, he said.

Taliban, who oppose girls’ education, have destroyed around 40 schools, health centres and other government buildings in the region, officials said.

There was no immediate claim for Thursday’s attack but Taliban in the past claimed responsibility for such incidents.

The outfit has destroyed over 400 schools in the Swat valley since in 2008.
