Meanwhile, the body of a youth, missing since early March, was recovered from a well in his native village in Sopore.

A police statement issued here said: “Hanifa, daughter of Ghulam Hassan Wani, resident of Kreeri (Baramulla), expired today (Friday) at her home.”

“The deceased had been injured last year and had been discharged from the hospital some three months back.”

Over 110 people, mostly youth, had been killed when security forces fired on violent protesters in the clashes last summer.

Police in north Kashmir’s Sopore recovered the body of the missing Yaseen Mir, son of Ghulam Nabi of Ladoora village.

The body was spotted in a well, police said.

Mir had been missing since March 2 this year and police had already lodged a missing person report.

The body was later handed over to Mir’s family.

Police has initiated inquest proceedings and further investigations are on.
