“Total bets received by the syndicate was more than Rs.2 lakh. Virender Kumar, 46, and Pushkar Raj, 49, were apprehended from Sriniwaspuri (in south Delhi) Tuesday night following a tip-off,” Additional Commissioner of Police Virender Chahal said.
“A constable was sent as a decoy customer. He placed a bet on the match after paying the duo Rs.500,” he added.
Both of them were earlier involved in a lottery business in Sonipat, Haryana.
