New Delhi : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is unlikely to watch Saturday’s India-Sri Lanka cricket World Cup final at Mumbai’s Wankhde Stadium, a senior official in the Prime Minister’s Office(PMO) said here Thursday.
“Till now, there are no plans for the prime minister to go to Mumbai,” the official told IANS.
Manmohan Singh and his wife Gursharan Kaur had watched the World Cup semifinal between India and Pakistan at Mohali Wednesday.
On Manmohan Singh’s invitation, his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani had visited Mohali, opening another chapter in cricket diplomacy in the sub-continent.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son Rhaul Gandhi had also gone for the Mohali match.
President Pratibha Patil and her Sri Lankan counterpart Mahinda Rajapaksa will watch the final.
