Islamabad : Pakistan had provided information about Osama bin Laden’s courier through whom the US got the Al Qaeda leader, Punjab Governor Latif Khosa has claimed.
Khosa told reporters at Quetta that without intelligence provided by Pakistan the Americans could not have reached Osama.
Osama bin Laden was shot dead by heavily armed US commandos who swooped into Abbottabad city May 2.
“We provided information about the courier of Osama and then Americans got him,” Dawn quoted Khosa as saying.
He also said it was absurd to suggest that Pakistan had provided shelter to Osama.
The courier who led the US to the Abbottabad mansion of Al Qaeda’s elusive leader Osama bin Laden has been identified as a Kuwaiti, Abu Ahmad.
The courier’s identity was established way back in 2007 when the US intensified efforts to track down bin Laden. After weeks of surveillance, the courier led them to the sprawling compound in Abbottabad where Osama was hiding.
