Islamabad : Pakistan was not consulted by the US over the Abbottabad assault that led to Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden being killed, reiterated Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir Thursday.
Salman Bashir told reporters: “It was a covert operation…Pakistan was not consulted.”
US commandos swooped into Abbottabad city May 2 and struck at a mansion where Osama bin Laden was hiding. They shot dead Osama and later buried his body at sea.
The Pakistani official said that it was an operation in which “radars were evaded”.
He said Pakistan armed forces had not been consulted and the air force had been scrambled after the raid took place.
