Pakistanis feeling insecure after Osama raid: opposition

By IANS,

Islamabad : Pakistanis were “feeling insecure” in their own country following the daring raid by US commandos who killed Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, said Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.

Khan criticised the government Thursday for not coming up with some plausible official response over Osama’s killing in Abbottabad May 2.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader said the entire world had been criticising Pakistan for its unclear position over Osama’s death.

Khan demanded a national inquiry on the incident and added that the government’s “mysterious silence” on the incident was tantamount to endangering security of the state.

After this development “every one of us is feeling insecure in our own country”, Dawn quoted him as saying.

If US special forces on four helicopters could skip four airbases on their way to Abbottabad, carry out a 40-minute operation right and return without any engagement from this side, “people have a right to ask so many questions which the government will have to respond”, he added.
