New Delhi : The Congress Friday said that responsibility should be fixed for errors in the list of “Most Wanted” given to Pakistan after instance of another fugitive in the list having been traced within the country.
Congress spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi said the issue was serious and government departments were investigating the matter.
“The party considers the issue as serious. The concerned deparments of the government were investigating the matter in a serious way. The aim is that it does not occur again and responsibility is fixed for the lapse,” Singhvi said.
He added that there was no need for knee-jerk reactions.
“The issue is being probed seriously. We would not comment till result is out. Congress does not take it (lapse) lightly and does not endorse it,” he said.
Feroze Abdul Rashid Khan, listed in the dossier as Most Wanted criminal No.24, was Thursday found to be in Mumbai’s fortified Arthur Road Central Jail facing trial in the March 12, 1993, Mumbai serial blasts case.
The embarrassing revelation came two days after Wazhul Qamar Khan, accused number 42 and alleged to be in Pakistan, was found working and living with his family in Thane, a suburb of Mumbai.
