The DYFI Tripura unit president Tapas Datta and secretary Amal Chakraborty contributed Rs.50,000 for Bikash Datta, whose both kidneys are damaged and who was unable to get proper medical treatment due to lack of funds.

“We have collected Rs.50,000 through our 19 divisional committees and have given the amount to Bikash Datta’s father Jagadhish,” Tapas Datta told reporters.

Bikash Datta is the president of the Youth Congress’s Bagafa block division in south Tripura.

“I sold my paddy fields for kidney transplantation of my son. My wife also donated one of her kidneys, but recently that too become ineffective,” said Jagadhish Datta, also a Congress leader.

“I am sincerely grateful to DYFI leaders and their members for their contribution to save the life of my son,” he said.
