New Delhi: Raza Academy, a Mumbai-based Muslim group, held a protest demonstration here on Wednesday against the humiliating frisking of former president of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam at John F. Members of Raza Academy organized the demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and then presented an old pair of shoes to the embassy officials for the US president.

According to media reports, US security men had forcibly entered the Air India aircraft when Dr Kalam had taken his seat after general frisking at the airport. But when AI officials took it strongly, the security men relented but took away Dr Kalam’s coat and shoes for inspection. They were suspecting signs of explosives on Dr Kalam’s attire.

Mr Muhammad Saeed Noori, General Secretary, Raza Academy asked the Indian government not to take the incident lightly, rather must lodge a strong protest by summoning US envoy in Delhi.

“The recent insult of former Indian President Dr. APJ Abdul kalam at JFK International airport in the name of checking shows how much it has respect to our highest level leaders and Politicians. India must not act like slave countries and must lodge its strong Protest by summoning the Counsel of U.S. at Ministry of Foreign Affairs because it is a matter of national prestige and pride,” Mr Noori said in a media statement on 16th November.
