Islamabad : A Pakistani anti-terrorism court Thursday acquitted three sons of Sufi Mohammad, the chief and founder of a militant group Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi (TNSM), in a terrorism case.
TNSM’s objective is to enforce Sharia law in the country. This rebel group had taken over much of Swat, a valley and an administrative district in the country’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, located close to the Afghan-Pakistan border, in 2007.
The court, which acquitted Abdullah, Abdur Rehman and Fazlullah during a hearing of the case, however, said that it would continue hearing of other cases against the three brothers.
These three individuals are facing several cases of murder, terrorism and revolt. They will still languish in jail.
