New Delhi: The government plans to convene an all-party-meeting to discuss issues like decriminalisation of politics and state funding of elections, Law Minister Salman Khurshid said here.
He said that “electoral proposals are ready in a crisp form” and would be discussed at various levels.
The minister said an all-party consultation was likely to be held after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh returns from his visit abroad.
He said the government would move the amendments related to electoral reforms after a consensus is reached on them.
The meeting is expected to take up issues like right to reject, audit of accounts of political parties, review of the anti-defection law, de-registration of non-serious parties and paid news.
