“We want to establish a permanent link with Chinese society,” explained Rosell after signing an agreement with the company Inter Sports.

Rosell will spend three days in Beijing and Shanghai between November 25 and 28 and will be accompanied by the club’s vice president for economic affairs Javier Faus, director of the technological area Didac Lee, director general Antoni Rossich, and the commercial and marketing director, Laurent Colette, reports Xinhua.

The three days will be filled with meetings with local organisations and purely commercial meetings.

Barcelona will also be present at the gala organised by the China Foundation for Disabled Persons, which is led by Deng Pufang, the son of former top Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping. The foundation works to help the 80 million handicapped people in China.

Barca will contribute various items for the auction to help raise funds. Among the items is a boot signed by Andres Iniesta, who scored the winning goal in the 2010 World Cup final, and four tickets to travel to Barcelona to witness a Champions League match.
