Speaking to reporters on the margins of a event here, Swamy said: “Chidambaram is guilty of criminal misconduct under the Prevention of Corruption Act. It is enough if you enable another person to enrich himself at the cost of the public.”

He asserted that one need not receive money to be charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act and the documents in his possession against Chidambaram have strong evidence.

He alleged that Chidambaram and Raja decided the spectrum allocation together and hence the former is equally culpable.

About the First Information Report (FIR) lodged against him in New Delhi Monday for causing enmity between two communities by his newspaper article, Swamy noted it was written in July and the case is registered in October.

He said there are judgments of the Supreme Court declaring freedom of speech cannot be restricted by threat of legal action.

Swamy said he would approach the courts to quash the FIR once he gets a copy of it.
