New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Tuesday directed the ministry of social justice and empowerment to set up a committee for the development of a B.R. Ambedkar memorial in the capital.
The prime minister issued the direction while reviewed the status of an existing Ambedkar memorial in north Delhi. The memorial consists of a photo gallery and a library and is housed in a bungalow, where Ambedkar breathed his last, located on around three acres of land.
The prime minister also met a delegation consisting of representatives of Dr. Ambedkar Parinirvana Bhoomi Samman Karyakram Samiti.
