New Delhi: The People’s Union for Democratic Rights (PUDR) has condemned the Chhattisgarh Police for raiding the Rajasthan house of rights activist Kavita Srivastava.
A PUDR statement said the Chhattisgarh Police claimed to be looking for a ‘khatarnak’ (dreaded) Maoist when it landed with a search warrant on Kavita’s house Monday.
“This arbitrariness and mindless hounding of people and activists is quite consistent with the past practices of Chhattisgarh government and its police,” it said.
Srivastava, general secretary of the People’s Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL), has said she had no links with Maoists.
