Beijing : An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale jolted the area near the south coast of Papua in Indonesia Saturday, Xinhua reported.
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the quake occurred at 5.38 GMT.
The quake’s epicentre, having a depth of 18.30 km, was initially determined to be at 4.6893 degrees south latitude and 134.0967 degrees east longitude.
