Kolkata : State Bank of India (SBI) Friday donated Rs.1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for rehabilitation of earthquake victims in West Bengal.
At least 10 people were killed and over 200 injured in the northern districts following a 6.8 magnitude quake that also jolted large parts of northern and eastern India Sep 18.
“The government will decide how to spend the money,” SBI chief general manager Surinder Kumar told IANS here.
The state-run bank said it will also extend financial assistance for the rehabilitation of the quake victims in Sikkim.
