Hyderabad : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Monday began searching the offices of Sun Network, owned by the family of former telecom minister Dayanidhi Maran, and the premises of Apollo Hospital executive director Suneeta Reddy in connection with the 2G spectrum case.
CBI sleuths were searching the residence and office of Suneeta Reddy at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad, sources said.
Searches were also on at the offices of Sun Network, informed sources added. Maran’s residences and offices in Chennai and Delhi were raided by CBI in connection with the Aircel-Maxis deal.
Maran is under the CBI scanner following a complaint from industrialist C. Sivasankaran that he was forced to exit mobile telephone company Aircel by then communications minister.
He alleged that he was forced to sell his holdings to Malaysia-based Maxis group owned by T. Ananda Krishnan.
Suneeta Reddy, who was chairperson of Aircel in 2005, was questioned by CBI last month.
She has stakes in Sindya Securities and Investments, which holds 26 percent share in Aircel.
Apollo Hospitals, however, had clarified that the investments of Sindya Securities and Investments Pvt Ltd in Aircel were in compliance with Indian laws.
