The division bench of acting Chief Justice A.K. Sikri and Justice Siddharth Mridul sought the reply from the Delhi government’s labour department after taking suo moto notice of the media report.

“The government should make their stand clear by Nov 3,” said the court.

The report pointed out that children below 14 could be found working as tea vendors, aides to notary public and food vendors in and around Tis Hazari, Patiala House, Rohini, Dwarka, Karkardooma and the Saket court complexes.

The report alleged that young children had been employed in violation of the high court’s previous order, imposing a complete ban on child labour in the capital.
