“When the (party) central leadership started getting the information that Yeddyurappa is involved in corruption, immediately we said if any investigating agency gives any report that proves he is involved in corruption, he will have to resign from his post,” senior leader Rajnath Singh told a news channel.

“As soon as the Lokayukta report came, Yeddyurappa had to resign. It was the decision of our parliamentary board,” he said. Yeddyurappa has been accused of illegally garnering real estate for himself and his family members in Karnataka.

Rajnath Singh targeted the Congress saying, “The issue is that corruption should not be protected at any cost as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh did.”

“There are allegations of corruption against P. Chidambaram and his senior colleague Pranab Mukherjee sends an official memorandum to the PMO…despite that he (prime minister) says whatever happens, I will protect my colleague…this increases corruption,” he added.

“BJP will never do so. If there are corruption allegations against our biggest leaders, we will not take a moment to relieve him from his duties,” he added.
