Kozhikode twin blasts: Red corner notice for two accused

Kochi: The NIA has issued Red Corner notice against two of the accused in the Kozhikode twin blasts case. The notice has been issued against second accused Muhammed Azhar and eighth accused PP Yousuf, both hailing from Kannur district and supposed to be absconding abroad. Rewards have also been reportedly announced for those who give information about them.

The NIA has also webcast their details including photos in its website, as per the suggestion of the Interpol. The details would be handed over to all the airports in the country soon. The Agency has also reportedly sought the help of the Dubai police on the information that the accused are in Dubai.

The Special NIA Court has already completed the trial in the case and sentenced the two main accused Thadiyantavide Naseer and Shafas for life imprisonment. Two others accused Aboobaker Yousuf and Halim were set free.

Twin blasts took place in Kozhikode city on March 3, 2006. The case was initially investigated by the Crime Branch and was handed over to the NIA in December 2009.
