Bomb plotters should be located: Advani

Thiruvananthapuram : A day after a pipe bomb was discovered on his yatra route, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani here Saturday complimented the Tamil Nadu government for changing his route and urged it to find out those behind it.

The former deputy prime minister, who arrived here late Friday, spoke to reporters prior to commencing his yatra in the state Saturday morning.

“Our people changed the route of my yatra following the government’s request after the discovery of the pipe bombs under a bridge,” Advani said.

“We want to ask the (Tamil Nadu) government to see those behind that incident should be located,” he said.

A pipe bomb packed with eight kg of explosives was discovered under a bridge in Alampatti near Madurai Friday morning.

A police officer said a man, identified only as Nehru, was detained as a suspect in the case.

Advani’s Jan Chetna Yatra, aimed at fighting black money and corruption, started Oct 11 and will end Nov 20. He will leave for Karnataka at night.
