The Foundation Day celebrations will begin at 9.30 AM outside the M A Ansari Auditorium, Jamia Millia Islamia. Mr. Najeeb Jung, Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia will receive the Guard of Honour by NCC Cadets of Jamia. This will be followed by a Flag Hoisting Ceremony by Mr. Sachin Pilot, and a Foundation Day Function at M.A. Ansari Auditorium which has been traditionally organized by the Jamia Middle School.

As part of the celebrations, the University will also hold a Foundation Day Lecture on “Youth for Democracy and Secularism” by Mr. Sitaram Yechuri, Polit Bureau member of Communist Party of India (Marxist). The Lecture will be held at 3.00 PM in Edward W. Said Hall, Main Administrative Block, Jamia Millia Islamia.

The Foundation Day celebrations will come to an end with a Day/Night Cricket Match between Jamia Staff XI and Sports Journalists which will be played at 5.30 PM in the Cricket Ground, University Sports Complex, Jamia Millia Islamia.

From the program details, it is clear the university administration has no time slot to remember the founders of the university. Being a Foundation Day, it is expected from the institution to introspect it and objectively assess its journey of 91 years.
