Chennai: The Forum for the Promotion of Moderate Thought among Muslims strongly condemned the barbaric bomb blast outside the Delhi High Court on Wednesday (7th Sep) and offered condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in the carnage. The Forum said such acts are to not only disturb communal harmony but also destabilise India with a view to undermine its progress as a responsible international power.
The Forum urged political parties that during times of national crises they must avoid mutual mudslinging and explore ways to work together to present a united front to defeat the diabolical designs of the enemies of our nation.
“Intelligence failure or not, the need of the hour for the security agencies is to remain ever vigilant in the protection of the people and vital installations of India,” Forum’s General Secretary A. Faizur Rahman said in a press statement.
“It is indeed disturbing that emails have been sent questioning the neutrality of the Indian judiciary. While expressing full faith in the Indian judiciary, the Forum urges fellow Indians to stand united as ever and not to succumb to any disinformation campaign that may be mounted by vested interests in the wake of the Delhi blast to drive a wedge between communities in the name of religion. In this context, the media must play the positive role of the unifier and promote inter-religious harmony,” he said.
The Forum has also called up on the Government of India to conduct a thorough investigation into this dastardly act of terror and bring its perpetrators and as well as the masterminds behind it to justice.
