Kabul : At least two Afghan civilians were killed and over 100 people, including personnel of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), were injured in a suicide car bombing in Afghanistan Saturday, ISAF said Sunday.
The blast took place at the combat outpost Sayed Abad in central Wardak province, Xinhua reported.
A Taliban suicide bomber detonated a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (IED) at the entrance of the combat outpost, an ISAF statement said.
It said 77 personnel and 25 Afghan civilians “received non-life-threatening injuries”.
“The majority of injured ISAF personnel will likely return to duties shortly,” it said.
The statement did not give details on the nationalities of the injured personnel. Troops mostly from the US and Turkey are stationed in Wardak.
Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack in a message posted on the internet.
