Participating in a discussion on Anna Hazare’s fast against corruption, organised here by Observer Research Foundation, Bedi said Gandhi’s role was the “biggest loss of faith”.

Hazare fasted for 12 days in support of a strong anti-corruption legislation — initially in the Tihar Jail and then at the Ramlila ground.

A former police officer, Bedi urged the Bar Council of India to take up the issue of judicial and court corruption.

She strongly defended the call of Hazare to audit of the performance of MPs vis-a-vis the Jan Lokpal Bill.

Explaining the chronology of the Hazare-led movement, Bedi said all this could have been avoided if the government had taken decisive steps against corruption after the Commonwealth Games and when the 2G scam broke out.
