Caracas : Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has announced that he was travelling to Cuba to undergo the fourth round of chemotherapy, which he said will probably be the last one after a surgery in June to have a cancerous tumour removed.
Chavez Saturday received at his presidential palace his Bolivian counterpart, Evo Morales, who is also headed for the island.
The Venezuelan president said they will meet in Cuba the country’s President Raul Castro and leader Fidel Castro.
Chavez said there would be some tests Saturday night, and Sunday he will begin his fourth round of chemotherapy.
“What is most probable is that this will be the last and then we’ll turn the page. Goodbye cancer threat and onward to life, to the road we’re taking, which is long… the battle ahead will be tough here and in our America,” Chavez said.
