ABVP disturbing communal harmony at OU: Campus Front

Hyderabad: Campus Front of India has alleged ABVP (Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad) is disturbing the communal harmony at Osmania University in Hyderabad. Andhra Pradesh president of Campus Front Dr. Syed Barkatullah said ABVP is carrying out the Sangh Parivar’s agenda and it did not accept the unity of Dalits & Minorities during the recently held “Beef Festival’ in OU campus.

He further said that the group had done unnecessary propaganda and created tension during the program. It had tried to give religious colour to the festival for targeting Muslims though it was motivated by dalit leaders and participated by almost all the students’ organizations.

Meanwhile, Campus Front’s Andha Pradesh state committee meeting held in its head office at Chandrayangutta decided to observe 30th April 2012 as ‘Anti Child Labour Day’ and planned to conduct corner meetings and others programs on that day in different parts of the state to motivate child labours to join the mainstream of education. The group will strengthen the organization in different universities campuses of the state to establish communal harmony and to bring a social change, said Hasan Shaik, General Secretary, Campus Front of India, Andhra Pradesh.
